Many of us remember fondly, the spectacle that was Pride Fighting Championships. Others that came later to the sport, remember the highlight show that aired on Fox Sports at the same time the UFC was exploding in popularity. A vastly larger group really has no idea of the impact that Pride had on us fans. Since the UFC bought the troubled promotion, it has greatly been absent from our lives.

Fret not! Beginning Friday, January 15, SpikeTV will air the new series, "Best of Pride"!

The new show will be hosted by some hot Maxim model and will feature the great Pride fights that sparked debates over which was the best promotion, ring vs cage, soccer kicks and head stomps and more!

If you loved Pride, here is your chance to see some of the great moments from the past. If you're new to Pride but love MMA, get caught up and see what a great world we lived in when it was UFC vs Pride for global domination!

The most cursed card in UFC history is finally upon us. Even with the card approaching, the curse struck again, leaving Steve Cantwell unable to go and causing the fight with Vladimir Matyushenko to be called off. We still have a full night of fights to go, so let's see if I can continue my domination of Shawn in 2010!

UFC welterweight contenders, Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves, have agreed to meet at UFC 111. The event takes place March 27th in New Jersey and shoud be a great card. Both guys have been hit by the UFC Curse, having recently scheduled fight plans altered by injuries, but as a result we get a great fight between the two. This should be an amazing fight, as Alves looks to avenge a loss to Fitch in 2006.

UFC 111 is already scheduled to have GSP vs Dan Hardy and Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin, so this is shaping up to be an amazing night of fights!

Ex-belt holder, Miguel Angel Torres, will begin his attempt to recapture the WEC bantamweight title, by taking on Joseph Benavidez at WEC 47 in March. Torres was considered one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, when he lost his title by KO to Brian Bowles. This will be his first fight back and should be a barn burner, with a title shot probably at stake.

Former UFC champ, Jens "Lil Evil" Pulver, will make his return to the cage at WEC 47 in March. Pulver went 0-2 in his comeback to the UFC, then made the switch to the WEC, winning his organizational debut. Unfortunately, Jens has dropped his last four fights after that. He will be taking on Javier Vazquez, as he looks to get back on the winning track.

Our friends in Japan put on their annual spectacle known as Dynamite! overnight. As many people couldn't stay up all night, we will, as usual, have the full results after the jump.

The night featured some big names, a couple of upsets and a badly broken arm followed by classless taunting from one of the sports most overrated fighters.
